Portland Metro Market Report – August 2012

August Residential Highlights

The real estate market in the

Portland Metro area continues

to improve. All measures of real

estate activity are positive when

comparing August 2012 with

August 2011.

At 2,311, closed sales reached

the highest level for a single month

period in five years, when August

2007 posted 2,554 sales. August

2012 sales were 28.0% higher than

August 2011 sales of 1,805 and 17.1%

over the 1,973 July total.

Pending sales were also strong,

boding well for continued strength

in closings through the fall months.

Oregon Coast Market Report – August 2012

August Residential Highlights

Improvement continued for

the real estate market in the north

coast counties of Oregon. Both

pending and closed sales were

higher than both the comparable

month last year and the previous

month.

For the second month in a

row, pending sales reached a

record for the highest number in a

single month since RMLS™ began

charting this statistic for the area

in 2009. The 134 accepted offers

topped the comparable month

Salem Metro Market Report – August 2012

August Residential Highlights

Pending sales were “most

improved” compared to the same

month last year. The 119 accepted

offers were 30.8% more than the 91

reported in August 2011, but 11.2%

off the pace of July’s stellar 134. The

continued strength of pending sales

is a good indicator that closed sales

will remain healthy well into the fall

months. Closed sales were identical

at 95 in August of 2012 and 2011,

sliding 5.0% from the 100 closed in
